Columbia Indestructible 2 m Cylinder Loose On Mandrel

Post by caniov »

I have a Columbia Indestructible 2 m Cylinder (No. 1353) that easily slides onto my Columbia Q mandrel. However, no matter how much I push the cylinder onto the mandrel, it is still loose, that is, I can easily spin the cylinder while holding the mandrel still. It does play, but I am wondering if there is some slippage while playing. Since this is my 1st indestructible cylinder, I am wondering if this is normal or not, and whether there is a quick mod that will result in a tighter fit on the mandrel.

Try wrapping a piece of paper around the mandrel
to make it slightly larger in diameter.
Just a piece of plain white copy-machine paper
cut to about the length of the mandrel and wrapped
around is often enough to make a loose cylinder fit
well enough to play properly.
