Latest Edition of APS
I just received the latest edition of the APS publication. Hats off to all the article contributors. I have noticed that there are a lot of newer members on this forum. I would highly suggest that they join the APS. Here is the link to join. http://www.antiquephono.org/join-us-home/

What do you mean by this statement? I've seen no indication of security problems.hearsedriver wrote:I would join if they had a secure website.
There's a lot more to the APS than just the website, and given the small fortunes we all invest in our passion for this hobby, $30 to support the Society is well worth the chump change.
Best,

The registration page is unsecure. They are asking for my personal information and a password. I dont feel comfortable giving out that kind of information on a site with no security. When I click on the "join" link, I get a warning that the connection to this site in unsecure and that I should not give any personal or credit card information. It could be something as simple as their security certificates being out dated. Having been through the nightmare of identity theft twice, I am probably a little extra cautious.

If you're talking about the payment, I think Paypal payment is about as secure as it gets. It you don't trust online payments at all you also have the option of sending a good old check in the mail.hearsedriver wrote:I would join if they had a secure website.

Paypal is very secure. Its the first page of the registration that is not. Its asking for my personal information and a password. I'll look for a phone number to contact them to join. It is true that the pages of the APS website are not secure in the sense that they do not use https. However, when you pay via paypal it is a secure https page. And, you can download a form and mail it in with a check if you do not want to join online.hearsedriver wrote:I would join if they had a secure website.
