Horn Size for Vic I?

Hi all...

Just picked up a nice Victor I with no horn. My question is...what is the right sized horn for that machine? I've seen some original Victor advertisements with the 17" flower horn but I would imagine that might be kind of rare and difficult to find. I really want to go with a black & brass witches hat. Size? I have a 13-¾" horn on the way...would that fit? Or something smaller?...it is a pretty small machine. I would probably have to get an adapter as my Vic I is an earlier model with the small elbow. Your thoughts would be most helpful...

Hi Glenn, The OEM Black and Brass style horn for the Vic 1 has a 9.5" bell 14" long and the appropriate narrow end for the small elbow. If you get an adapter any of the larger Victor horns will fit the adapter. The 13 ¾ will work with an adapter, it will be "alot" of horn on a relatively small machine.

Hi Glen,

John is correct the OEM Black and Brass style horn for the Vic 1 has a 9.5" bell 14" long and has the appropriate narrow end for the small elbow. The most common next size up for the Vic 1 with adaptor was the size "G" horn which has a 11 ⅜" bell, this is a nice size which doesn't overpower the machine. Another option was the size "D" horn which has a 11 ⅜" bell, but tapers down to fit the original small Vic.1 elbow, (this horn is very hard to find).
