Victor VV-IV reproducer upgraded ?

I picked up a very dirty but working little VV-IV at a local flea market for $35. It's an early model with no wooden slats at all and it came equipped with a Victor #2 reproducer which I assume is incorrect for this 1917 model? Maybe an upgrade later on by the original owner? Curious.....

Could be original as the No.2 was introduced in 1917 but every one I have seen had an Exhibition on it.The No.2 would certainly be appropriate for it.

An early VV-IV would have originally come with an Exhibition reproducer (not an Exposition, which is a European Exhibition clone). The #2 reproducer was introduced in 1918 together with the new "fat" tonearm.

Yes, no wood slats would put this machine at 1917 up to mid 1918.

Victrola.com says the No.2 was introduced in late 1917 on VV-IV, VI, and VII.
