BC Banner Decal

Hi
Can anyone tell me the correct banner decal for the cabinet front on my machine. The machine number is 888 on the side plate.
I intend ordering a decal from Greg Cline.

Your BC is an early production example, so it may well have had a larger banner decal than most. If you're a member of the Antique Phonograph Society, check the article in the September 2016 issue of the APS Journal where all known variations of the banner decal are pictured and discussed. Early BCs like yours are found with the Type 5 decal. (Most BCs were decorated with the Type 9 or Type 10 decal.)

If you're not an APS member, let me know and I'll post a photo of the Type 5 decal.

You can become a member for a modest yearly due, and receive the quarterly magazine, which has excellent articles.

As Bill noted (thanks, Bill!), Antique Phonograph Society members receive a quarterly journal which is full color and 52 pages long. Each issue contains about 10 articles (depending on length, of course), plus ads from suppliers, phonograph show promoters, etc. As you can see, over the course of a year, members receive over 40 articles for minimal cost. And in the case of the OP of this thread, the knowledge gained can prevent mistakes costing far more than the annual dues. (By the way, the OP has been assisted through PMs.)

In addition to the outstanding journal, APS members have access to the "Members Only" section of the web site, which contains a growing number of documents dating from January 1890 through the present (currently over 15,000 pages). These include original catalogs and a wide variety of collector publications from the 1950s through 2017. All back issues of The Sound Box and The Antique Phonograph are included in this archive, along with complete runs of other well-known and obscure collector publications. ALL OF THIS IS SEARCHABLE. Just type in your keyword or phrase and you'll get a list of locations where it has appeared over the years. What a reference library!

Finally, the APS is involved in a number of ongoing projects designed to strengthen the antique phonograph hobby. Members give demonstrations (some all-day) in schools and universities. Writers and broadcasters are assisted in giving accurate depictions of phonographs in written pieces and films. Young people expressing interest are given antique phonographs donated through the APS. (Just last week an 18 year-old was made the proud new owner of an Edison A-100 and a pile of Diamond Discs.)

Anyone worried about the future of our hobby is helping by simply being a member. All APS Board members and officers are volunteers.
