What I Bought This Week: Bush & Lane Walnut Phonograph

Post by Talkophone »

Got lucky and bought this for $75 at an antique shop a few days ago. I worked on the top lid (the rest needs some clean up) but I didn't do anything to the inside of lid. I'm working on the tone arm its broke trying to epoxy back. The last elbow is what is broken where it connects to the reproducer. Not sure why it come out like a Mahogany color in the pictures because its walnut.

If the work you've done so far is any indication, that should be one stunning looking talking machine when you're done. I love that "swirl" walnut grain pattern.

Beautiful veneer! It's going to be real nice looking when you've got it all fixed up.

That's beautiful! What are you using to clean it up?

A nice veneer can turn a typical machine into a spectacular one, can't it? Nice...!

It's always good to hear about phonographs people find cheap. But it's even better when they are as nice as yours is. Nice find! Please post some more pictures when you are completely finished with it. Looks like it will be a beauty. :)
