These portables were "made up" in the 1980's. I saw a green Bentley version at the NEC Classic car Show at that time, and I have also seen a Rolls-Royce version based on a black HMV 101. Some sellers less honest than Soundgen have claimed that these machines were commissioned by the car manufacturers as accessories, but in over 40 years involvement with classic cars I have never seen one shred of evidence to suggest that any UK manufacturer ever sanctioned the use of their name on a gramophone.

No I don't have a green Bentley, but I did once own a green Armstrong Siddeley for which I made this from an HMV 102 which had already lost it's original lid transfer panel:

I had to click on this to see the Bentley----I had a 2-tone green 1937 Park Ward, thought it might of been it. Your phonograph and the accessory Bentley are nice---way to show it off.

Nice one ! I like the logo , yes as you say they were made up in the 1980s with quite a lot of effort , parts replated and the embossing , they would have been more convincing though if they had covered the motor board with the same fabric rather than leave it repolished wood , so clearly from a black HMV as the coloured ones always had coloured motor boards ! still if you have a Green Bentley it would make a great addition !
