Edison 14" Horn Question

Were the bells on the original 14" Edison horns lacquered or left raw brass? Thanks

I have worked on PLENTY of Edison 14" horns and I have not seen one yet that was factory lacquered.

I prefer the aged look of the raw brass as long as the corrosion is uniform.
