Refinished?

Post by briankeith »

Does this look refinished? (It does to me) I don't want to waste my time driving out to see it if it has indeed been refinished that's all. The seller says no.

It could be the flash washing out the picture. The machine can have a faded finish or the finish may have been reduced by aggressive cleaning. I don't think that anyone can tell for just by looking at the photo.

My vote is yes, it's been refinished on the outside. Too brown, with no distinctive "red" in typical Victor mahogany finishes.

it looks pretty light... ask for a photo with one sound door and one storage door open, with the others closed, so you can compare inside and outside.

I vote yes. The finish on the outside looks different compared to the inside which appears original. Is this at an auction or has the seller seller set a price? Unless you are totally against refinished machines it might be worth a look.

Can’t you ask for a couple other pictures just to rule out that it was the flash? Might be interesting to see what’s in the boxes also.

Set price of $150. Local, it was his dads. He claims his dad never refinished it when he bought it a very long time ago. VV-XVI (H)

The finish under the lid looks original to me but the outside looks refinished. Jerry B.
