I was told this is a cylinder cabinet. Does anyone recognize it?

It certainly bears a strong resemblance to small Hawthorne & Sheble record cabinets, but the drawers differ in the pulls and locks. Check the drawer bottoms for routings (paper pegs) or holes (wooden pegs). Check the undersides of the drawer bottoms too - - sometimes people would remove and flip them when re-purposing a record cabinet.

There is no evidence of of pegs but I think the drawer bottems have been replaced. I found it odd that each drawer has a lock. It's a beautiful cabinet though.

Any cabinet in my humble opinion can be a cylinder cabinet by simply putting cylinders in them. I sincerely doubt that the original phonograph owners cared what they stored the cylinders in provided they were stored.

It is difficult to tell from the perspective of the photo, are the drawers all the same height? Are they a reasonable height for cylinders? Either way, I think a nice cylinder machine would look great perched on top.

My best guess is that it is a cylinder cabinet and worth the asking price or at least a very good offer. Jerry Blais
