This must be one of the top phono finds of the last few years, if not this century. Was it the one that was briefly on Ebay?

Yes, this is the same doll.Sidewinder wrote:This must be one of the top phono finds of the last few years, if not this century. Was it the one that was briefly on Ebay?
I should point out that the doll isn't really a "Berliner Talking Doll," as Berliner didn't manufacture it, but only licensed Kämmer & Reinhardt to do so, and to record/manufacture records. In our article, we refer to it as "The Kämmer & Reinhardt Gramophone Talking Doll."

Absolute genius of a mechanism! Simple but effective, especially the little button to raise the reproducer off the record.
Is the record vertical or lateral cut. (vertical like Pathé). From the position of the needle in respect to the stylus bar one may think it is vertical??
