CIRCASSIAN WALNUT L DOOR PHONOGRAPH EBAY

Post by fmblizz »

Have to wonder what went down with this machine.. eBay item number: 254299941240.

It was listed on Ebay and showed a final winning price of $2125.00 on July 23,2019..

Top of listing stated that it was relisted even though it had a winning bid. What's up with that???

This morning at 9:17 AM the same machine,eBay item number:264408267833

shows that it was relisted but is no longer available.

Now at 10:17 AM it is back on Ebay item number: 254308527901

but with a Buy It Now price of $2499.99.

Three listings with the first listing ending with a winning bid.. but still available.. All the listings have different listing numbers..

Fun and games I guess...

Gary,

I won’t comment on the seller or the specifics of the item, but please note:

A surprising percentage of winning bidders fail to pay. This is getting worse in recent times.

When this happens, a seller can re-list the item. A seller can also remove a listing when he has a buyer off-eBay. And then sometimes those deals do not consummate and the seller again re-lists.

Thanks Raphael. More and more of these type of transactions going through the Ebay system.

Let just say for now it's entertainment watching people trying to manipulate the system..

This all went down in less then 14 hours. lol

Again, not commenting on the seller or specific item, but there need not be any inference of a seller manipulating the system. Most often it is the result of “buyers” who feel no responsibility to pay for an item that they bought. Sometimes they read the listing afterwards and decide they were too hasty.
All the seller can do is re-list and go back to square one.

Didn't mean to make it sound that this was a seller manipulation. We all know it works both ways, buyers and sellers especially when the listed items are of higher values..

I saw this machine and thought about bidding but just don't want to drive this far for another project.

Is there anyone who travels from the New Jersey area to Ohio or Michigan where I could meet up with to get this machine? I would pay for your services. Message me if you do. If it doesn't happen it wasn't meant to be.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It is not without a few issues, but it is still tempting for those of us who can overlook some age related character. Listed again, (not mine). https://www.ebay.com/itm/254308527901?ul_noapp=true

I am a little surprised that with the desirability of this machine that it is still available. Has anyone taken a look at the machine in person? Despite a few rough edges, unless I am missing something, this is a good deal. I wish that I had the room and the nerve to discuss it with my wife, but unfortunately, I have neither at the moment.

I was thinking the same thing. I gladly paid that price for my example, which had some very minor issues and it was filthy, but that's all been sorted out. They really look stunning when all cleaned up.

I am glad that it sold. I have a problem with temptation.
