Fantastic info and discussion guys. Clears up a lot of questions and gives much food for thought. And yes, recording, manufacture and marketing of records in the Edwardian Era is incredibly interesting, and the main focus of my record collecting interest.

Well, I bought this record this evening. My brother is studying football journalism at university so this will be something really interesting for him and his course. I wonder how many of these records still survive.

Some "Homophon2 records were recorded in GLASGOW, Scotland around this period. As afar as I can remember, Shields also recorded football commentaries on "Beltona" a mainly Scottish material label.
