NEED HELP & GUIDANCE : BALDWIN RADIO PHONOGRAPH SPEAKER

Hi there friends,I am much new to this hobby and very uninitiated, hence humbly seeking your collective guidance to resolve/overcome this challenge..

I recently bought an interesting phonograph attachment "BALDWIN RADIO PHONOGRAPH SPEAKER" .
This attachment output connects to the 'tone arm' of the phonograph (in the place of phonograph sound box, and plays the radio/ or any other music source through the phonograph horn.

The connection schematics are as follows:

Music source ------ INPUT <Amplifier> OUTPUT ---- : BALDWIN : ----- (Phonograph Tone arm)
(Either Radio or likewise)



Now the challenge is after the wiring when I play music through the amplifier, the music can be heard through the phonograph but it's very "F E E B L E".
How can I make the output amplify more.

I am using a small amp with out put 8 Ohm, while the Baldwin speaker attachment is of 1600 Ohm.

I think you need an impedance-matching transformer.

It is only a question of matching the impedance and this can be done with a Valve ( tube ) output audio transformer, there are sometimes universal output transformers giving 3 8 and 15 ohms on the loudspeaker side which will be your input side and several tapping's for the old tube anode output side often in the 1500 to 3000 ohm range.
As this is a low wattage unit you only need a small transformer, and one word of warning don't put too much power into the device as this could burn out the speaker winding.
