Newbie post....Repair needed Columbia grafonola G89599

Post by Bobbie »

We have owned this machine for decades. Have not used it for a while. Husband tried to wind it up and although the handle moved, the turntable did not. He disassembled it as far as his comfort zone allowed just to clean it up. We apparently need a repair. Any help available? We live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but often visit family in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia. If I posted incorrectly, please advise. Thanks.

One suggestion is to contact Ron Sitko, who does repairs. His telephone number and address are in the Links Section.

Welcome to the fourm, Bobbie.

I'd suggest sending it off. They can be very dangerous especially if you've never taken out a spring before. There's some great professionals on the forum that do incredible work which would be a lot easier on your part.

I'm just copying pasting this from a similar question.

These are just some of the big names, but there could be someone a little more local for you.

I'm not too terribly far away from you and am willing to check it out.
