Hello everyone,
First let me say that I know very little about who sang what and what year it is. I just like what I like and I bought a collection of records. I made a list but unfortunately I did not add the artists. I love upbeat fun songs but I don't know which ones are. Barring listening to every record which I don't want to do as many are NOS, I could use some assistance.
Can y'all look at my list and recommend records for me?
THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE POST. They are not for sale at this time.
Thanks for any help!

Re: Record stash help
Artists would help. We don't know if these are vocal, jazz or big band, country, etc., and since the same tunes often crossed genres it's difficult to surmise exactly what you are looking for- even the same tune in the same genre can vary widely in presentation. For example, take Leo Reisman's "Take It From Me" and Sam Lanin's "Can't You See" and compare them to the Casa Loma versions and you jump from sentimental ballad to hot jazz.
"He who dies with the most shellac wins"- some nutty record geek

I have (presumably) a different copy with (presumably) a different singer of 3. Vocalion. Song of the open road, a bird in a gilded cage. and I LOVE 'a bird in a guilded cage'.
So, I would recommend 'a bird in a guilded cage' for you to listen to.
Oh ........... this isn't an up-beat, fun song

I think that Rock Island Line / John Henry is Lonnie Donegan. That's what I recommend, for you to get your skiffle on.
There was (sic) a fellow waiting in Poughkeepsie, accentuate the positive.
By Betty Hutton / Johnny Mercer (Capitol) was one of the first 78 rpm records I really went gangbusters for when I was a lad. Wore it out on my windup portable. Have another copy now. Betty Hutton is sort of unjustly forgotten, IMO.
