Edison Home Model C

Post by tomb »

I won a Edison home model C on E bay and here are a couple of pictures I will add a cygnet horn to it next month. It was an option that could be added at the factory and cost $ 40.00 form the factory complete. Last year I got a home model plate without a ID plate but had a serial number stamped in the front and back along with the model C stamped into it. It was iffy as the serial number sequence was close to the small block of model C phonographs made. I have checked this plate and it is the same as my other plate with the serial number on the back and it is identified as a model C also. That is in one of my other posts. That plate had been slightly modified to take a two/four minute gearing where the belt pully is on top. Surprise Surprise this one also has been less modified to accept the 2/4 minute gear but someone has attempted it. Tom

Here is the final pics of the home C with a cygnet horn on it. I went thru my surplus and was surprised I had all the parts. I just had to clean up the bell. It has a little rust on it and I am debating on refinishing it this summer Tom
