Once I picked up a phonograph from a radio collector. He had a wall covered with tabletop Art Deco style radios on shelves. I asked him, do they work? He said they could be made to work. He said he buys them for their appearance. That makes sense- collect them like stamps. Who wants to listen to an AM radio anyway. I never play my phonos even when they work. The Dual 1019 is for playing 78s. I have a 7-26 which I had restored and am trying to sell but no one even calls.

Well, if you were in the UK I would be calling you if it was the machine pictured.

And if S-B-H took the machine you would not need that rug pictured in the lower part of the picture. I'd probably take it off your hands. Looks very nice. Turkomen?

Those 7-26's were too reliable and too many are around. They do
sound pretty good if you happen to have the -A version with the
dynamic speaker. Otherwise a bit tinny. And there were a fair number
made.
