the traffic cone horn

Post by dzavracky »

Well being stuck at home and seeing a traffic cone gave me this idea. It’s not quite finished yet, but I thought I would share.
This horn has actually taken longer than the paper Searchlight horns I have made, and it doesn’t sound as good. I think once I finish putting paper on it and paint it, it may sound better :? Anyways thoughts?

To me it looks ridiculous on my standard

It is an interesting way to create a horn.

Just the thing for playing songs like "In my Merry Oldsmobile," "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along," "He'd Have to Get Out and Get Under," "Henry's Made a Lady out of Lizzie," ....

It's hard to tell from the picture but how long is it?

I’ll get back to you on the length later tonight. It’s pretty long tho

I’d like to try my hand at making some molds. Where can I find the dimensions for a cygnet horn?

Looks more like the shape of a recording horn than a playing horn. You can get something similar at Wal-Mart, a plastic funnel for transmission fluid, for $2 or $3.
