FOR SALE - Oak Tabletop VV-X Victrola - in Phila PA - SOLD

Post by brianu »

This uncommon oak tabletop VV-X is a project machine that has just been sitting around for far too long. I'm hoping to pass it on to someone who can finally breathe some new life into it. It's basically complete but needs a complete restoration... and the knobs are obviously incorrect. The springs seem good and the motor is running, but on the fast side. The finish is original but the veneer is lifting in random areas, as the photos show. The only photos I have are attached. It's presently in our climate-controlled storage unit in southern NJ, and pick-up would be preferred there or in center city Philadelphia, with payment via PayPal friends/family. I think 275 is extremely fair for this... although it's irrelevant, I paid a good deal more. If you'd prefer it without the Exhibition reproducer, then I'd take 225. If interested, send me a message or email brianu73 at hotmail. Thanks.

That is a very attractive phonograph; the dark oak is something special. Good luck on the sale.

Thanks. I’m definitely realizing though that if I’ve had a project for 10 years and it’s still a project, untouched since purchased, then it’s just got to move on, I feel like I owe the machine at least that much. I tried to price it cheap enough as well, hoping someone will see the value in it.

Last reduction, 225 with the exhibition reproducer or 200 without. It’s located in southern NJ just outside Philadelphia. I also welcome any comments or suggestions... is this not cheap enough? Is it too much of a project?

No, the price isn't the problem... it's New Jersey...

Distance? Virus? Or just jersey? I guess I get it, all three.

Thanks.

I have an early Queen Anne or spider leg style X in oak as well, in no need of any work, that I would sell as a package deal with the project machine. I had this listed on eBay for a little while for 1200 but stopped the listing once the virus situation started making things crazy. If interested, let me know.

Greyhound... ;)
I purchased a schoolhouse XXV last year. Shipped from Michigan to TN via Greyhound. All around great experience.
