My Newest Addition...

Post by Curt A »

My newest addition is this 2/4 minute Fireside with a K reproducer and wood grained cygnet horn.

The horn was painted by Danny Arms, who died 5-6 yrs ago. Danny was an artist who did an amazing job of wood graining horns. Before he died, I had him grain a horn for my Columbia BKT and I also obtained a cygnet horn. At the time, I didn't have a cygnet horn machine, so when someone came along with a good offer on the cygnet horn I decided to sell it.

I have regretted that decision for the past 5 years, so when this Fireside turned up with one of Danny's horns, I couldn't resist...

That horn is stunning.
I bet it even makes the music sound a little better! ;)

Thanks for the comments... Danny's death was a real loss to the phonograph community, he was a talented musician as well as an artist and should have had many more years...

Danny Arms was very talented. The horn really is a work of art. Congratulations. :)

That horn jumps out... I think you could spend some time looking at the horn and forget about the music. Thanks to bring to our attention his works. Tom

That's great! Funny enough, that's the exact setup I have, except that I still havent finished wood graining my cygnet. Congrats on a great purchase.
