I just picked up this early Favorite with the ‘Victor’ style doors today and after some maintenance, it works and sounds amazing! The odd thing about it is the ‘Patent Applied for’ Columbia semi-automatic brake attached to the motor board next to the tone arm base. I replaced a missing screw and it works very well. Has anyone ever seen anything like it? Could this have been an add on from the dealer, or a factory application?
It does still have the standard governor brake.
