Today we have a stunning Blackman Automatic Reproducer. Blackman was a jobber for Edison products and a friend of Edison. Blackman also made his own items. One was an "Improved" Edison Automatic. To do so he replaced the Edison top insert with his tapered, domed insert and added an accessory weight on the bottom.

This Blackman is the best I have ever seen. It has been rebuilt with the correct glass diaphragm. It has a good jewel. It looks and plays wonderfully.

Blackman reproducers do not come up often and command a significant premium over standard Edison Automatic reproducers. They are highly prized by collectors. For its condition, this one is priced very, very fairly.
