I have been reading about Victor motors and I think this would be correct for this style of XVI. So I would only need to replace the fatter tonearm to a thin one, a needle cup and holder, and an oak motor board. Does this sound right? It came originally with an Exhibition sound box, but didn't Victor offer the No. 2 later as a replacement? If so, the No. 2 would be OK for my XVI. If that's the case, then the parts I need to find would probably cost around $150 or so. That would mean I could have a complete XVI for around $300.

Would anybody happen to have an oak needle cup holder, gold needle cup, oak motor board and thin tonearm? :)
Actually, it's probably not quite the right motor (a year or two off). It should have two springs in one barell, and one single. It should also take a female winding key. The good news is that it isn't the same motor as the L-door, and Vic 6, which could cost around $400 to replace. It's the motor right after, which although doesn't come up often, is exponentially cheaper (I picked up mine for under $100). Also, there are a few thin style tone arms used in the early days, so you have to be careful when shopping for one (I'll try to get pictures of everything this weekend). I think I purchased everything for my machine at least twice, invariably getting the wrong one first.

I may have the back bracket for this model, but I don't think I have the tone arm. I'll check.
