The pedestal was included with the outfit.

The pedestal has two switches: The toggle switch controls power to the unit, and the push-button controls the changer and reject cycle. There are five insulated wires in the cloth-covered connecting flex cord. A pedestal or simple control box could be easily replicated.

To illustrate just how expensive the Model 1 was, the same money could have bought a brand new Austin Seven.

Lovely advertisement (it is about the 1B version - no doors, no repeat action / no slider switch, lamp on motor board). Thanks for sharing!

The one on sale looks like the first series/version (Mod. 1 with repeat action, doors, lamp in lid).

However, I just checked in Oakley & Proudfoot's book "His Master's Gramophone". Both the doors and the remote control were optional extras (£10 extra for doors and £5 extra for the remote control).

Auction now says lot "passed". I guess it did not sell because of a reserve?
