After tons of elbow grease and some repair on the lid, she now shines like a new penny!
Next will be the reproducer.
Thanks again for herding us to the right direction.

Excellent job... and oak too! That's a second style 50. If you are not aware, the first style 50 had a horn casting which came all the way up to the motorboard, the crank was slightly further to the right and the motorboard brackets were different. I learned this when I bought an empty cabinet for one in a beatup cabinet and nothing was interchangeable.

Funny story, this was explained on the very first video we saw when we googled Victor VV-50. But no one would have ever guessed that we would end up owing the same machine on that video! What are the odds of that?

Wow! That is nice. VV-50 is my first Victor machine, and the first machine I did a teardown and restoration on. Great machine to start with if you want to know how to restore a machine!

Those VV-50s are one of my favorite phonographs. I brought a ton of them. You did a nice job cleaning it up and it looks good. I like the earlier ones with the front crank. These things are sturdy and will take a lot of abuse. I like the oak ones better than the mahogany. Tom

I'm very happy that Eric enjoyed my video so much that he bought the machine from me! He did an excellent job cleaning it up too!erinN wrote:Thanks Jim,phonojim wrote:Excellent job... and oak too!
