Hi guys,
I recently picked up my first Edison Standard, which came with a Model H reproducer.
In shopping around for a 2-minute reproducer, I came across a Model C reproduction sold by Victrola Repair Services in VT.
In my research, it seems like there is a parity of cost between originals and reproductions.
Does anyone have experience with the reproductions? Are they a good product?
Thanks!

If all things are equal, I would always prefer original over reproduction. What is the cost of the reproduction? I would think you could find a good playing C for $100 to $125.

I saw they are $165.00, seems steep to me.

If it’s a Paul Baker reproduction it think they not only play as well as an original but even better.

I forgot to mention, they are $165. And that's about what I've been seeing on ebay for restored ones.Jerry B. wrote:If all things are equal, I would always prefer original over reproduction. What is the cost of the reproduction? I would think you could find a good playing C for $100 to $125.

I guess it seems strange to me that there is a ready supply of reproductions of these particular reproducers, which make me feel like they were produced to be competitively the same as an original.
Is there a story behind it?

I've got several extra originals if you are interested.
