1920s Dual Tone The King of Phonograph

Post by pellicano1 »

Just picked up this unique phonograph from the early 20s. Loving it! $100. Just cleaned it up and rebuilt the reproducer which is shaped like a Fletcher. Love the Mandel stop on this unit! On the right side has a volume rod. The double tonearm doesnt seem to have any sound difference. Would think it may add a bit of depth to the sound. A little more touching up to do as well as motor inspection and she will be added to my collection! Anyone else have one?

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Great find.... great price... enjoy!

As for me, I don't have one of these particular off-brands but others may chime in that have one or can offer some period advertisements through online sources, etc.

What a neat machine. I don’t have one but I definitely would’ve picked that up for $100!

Enjoy!

Looks great, enjoy it. I had a deposit on it for a few months, but haven’t really gone out since March and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get down to pick it up for quite a while. My wife will be happy that I wasn’t bringing another machine into the house.

Did they have it on Craigslist or other site? I jumped on it 3 hours after Facebook post. On a side note, the Christmas gift from the wife idea was the only way I was getting another haha!

Add a second soundbox and you have a Duophone.

It was on FB earlier in the year and I put a deposit on it then. She contacted me about it a couple of days ago and relisted it when I said I was still not leaving the house.
