Member Steve not able to post

Post by alang »

Fellow forum member Steve asked me to post that he is currently unable to post or respond to anything on the forum because of a blocked ip address error. Yesterday it worked for a few hours and today he seems locked out again. He just wants you to know that he's not being rude or ignoring anyone by not responding.

Thank you, Andreas. It seems this is an on-going problem for quite a few of us now that there are no technical administrators or visible owners here.

Hey Steve.
Hope all is well.

Do you get an error message similar to the one posted below?

If so, copy the "incorrect string value" code, and Google it, and you may be able to get some indication as to what's causing it, and help pin point the problem.
If not, perhaps a screen shot of whatever message appears might help figure it out?

My ip address is also blocked sometimes, but then i follow the links and instructions and it works. Nevertheless, the last time I simply logged off the site and logged in again and it worked.

And if rebooting doesn't work, I'd send David a message.
I don't think he's abandoned us completely, but is just living his life ;)

Hi Shane,
I'm good thanks, how are you these days?

No, it's a far simpler problem than that. I get red letter message stating my IP address is banned due to SPAM!

I've tried contacting David and other members have too but he does not reply anymore. I figured he's long gone now?

I'm doing well thanks Steve, and glad you are too.

David last posted on Dec 11, so only a month ago.
I'd say give him a few more weeks and try again if you're still having problems. He may be away on holidays or something?
In the meantime if it happens again I'd try as Inigo suggested and sign out and back in again and see what that does.
Pretty irritating I know, but worth a try I guess.

I tried the log in and out but it rarely helps me. The route to success is in using a different ISP and therefore IP address. This is the only site I have any problems with.

FYI, I contacted David long before December 11th so he has probably seen my messages already.
