Did anyone here get this Aeolian-Vocalion?

Post by Curt A »

Nice multi-color splatter record from 1916 - "National Airs". The two record set (Star Spangled Banner and National Airs) is my favorite...

George,
Do you know if there were any other Aeolian Vocalion splattered records with different titles other than the two WWI records?

I've not heard of any, but that doesn't mean there weren't any. Brunswick did some splatters as did Paramount and likely others (besides Pathé).

Yes Curt A,

There is at least one other Aeolian-Vocalion splattered record. I remember Kurt Nauck sold one in a past auction years ago. I’ll try to find it later when I’m home. I know Kurt had a later Decca example at one time, and I have seen pics of later RCA varieties elsewhere also.

Here’s a post I put in the “Music” section of this forum awhile back. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=38534&hilit=Multi+colored . Check out the link within the preceding link to see my larger post in the “Yankee Trader” section. Maybe... :? the Brunswick shown in my linked post used to belong to gramophone-georg...

Hiya folks,

The included link apparently does not work. This is the 2nd time today I followed a link that led nowhere. Here's a screenshot that's identical to the other I received when following a link inside a thread post.

Am I the only one affected?

Thanks,
Fran
