Curt that crank turned out great. I just may try my hand at making my own crank 8-)

Cheers

Curt's crank, while a very nice job, would not be correct for your Zonophone.

Which one of these (if any) would be correct?

None of the above. As I mentioned, it's a Victor crank. Victor owned Zonophone in the era of your machine.

The earlier Victor "flat" crank may be proper.

Here is what my Victor era Zonophones have. I actually have the same model as yours, (I think), but it's at a different location right now.

Those are some nice Zonophones.

I hope the crank question is pretty easy to figure out; it's going to look good all done up. David, I hope you can find a gear & get it all running.

Take a look at your motor winding shaft. If it has a pin in it to engage a crank then a Victor slotted crank will work. If the motor winding shaft has a slot in it, as most Zon-o-phones including some made by Victor, then a crank with a pin in the end is what you need. Zon-o-phone "S" shape cranks are made with a pin that engages a slot in the winding shaft. The later made Victor version of the concert that I have, has what looks like a standard Victor crank such as what one would find on a E, M, and so on yet it has an internal pin that engages the standard slotted winding shaft that is common to Zon-o-phone machines.

Here’s a pic. There’s no pin that goes through the shaft.
Does anyone have a picture of what a correct crank looks like?

Ok. You have a normal Zon o phone type winding shaft which has a slot in it. Your crank will need to have a pin that goes thru the crank shaft to mesh with the slot in the motor winding shaft. Many Victor cranks are slotted on the end to mesh with a pin that Victor used in there motor winding shafts. Zon o phone set there winding shaft and cranks up opposite to the way Victor did.
