Re: Joining forum problem
No worries. If other methods are easier, PM for Venmo, Zelle or CashApp.
But I want to stress that it is not required to bribe me to activate accounts or to have access to the forum. If any of you have recommendations for features you might be interested in getting in return for $X (as like a monthly recurring Patreon-type subscription, let me know). Or if you’d like me to make phonograph-related t-shirts, we could look into that as well. Feel free to PM me any ideas you might have.
I caught up on all recent non-spam inactive accounts, so anyone who joined after 25 January, 2021 was either deleted as a suspected spam account or has been activated. (There really weren’t any outstanding beyond the beginning of this month.) I’ve cut it down to 298 pages of inactive users, although that’s 7,444 users, between 2020.05.22 @ 23:51 and 2021.01.25 @ 11:49, a lot of which have obvious spammer usernames.
My personal favorites are “viagra porn,” “buy viagra usa,” and “cialis 10mg.” I’m sure they’re all legit users.
Regards,
David

We have 299 pages of inactive users, mostly spammers that I have not had time to go through before upgrading phpBB and fixing the new user approval process.
I was actually thinking about writing up something to encourage donations, so I can afford to set aside more time to focus on this site, and because COVID and the holidays continue to hurt my consulting income.
Thanks,
David
