FOR SALE: Phonograph books -- Various

Post by TinfoilPhono »

Time for some house-cleaning. I'm offering the following books for sale. Prices include Media Mail shipping (US only). Paypal F&F or checks are fine.

SOLD - The Phonograph and How to Use It. 1971 reprint by Allen Koenigsberg. Like new. $25

SOLD - A Complete Manual of the Edison Phonograph. Hardbound reprint of the 1897 original by George Frow (1970s?). Absolutely beautiful work, handsomely bound with gilt title. Red page edges. Detailed information about every aspect of the Class M Phonograph. Like new. $50.

- The Thomas A. Edison Album by Lawrence Frost (first edition, 1969). Hardbound with jacket and plastic protector. Excellent condition. $15

- The Fabulous Phonograph by Roland Gelatt. Softcover, 1977 edition. Some light foxing on page edges, overall very good. $12

SOLD - Berliner Gramophone Records in America by Paul Charosh. Paperback, 2012. Covers are slightly curled but otherwise excellent. $20

SOLD - Hand-Cranked Phonographs by Neil Maken (1993). Small hardbound book, 87 pages, with jacket and plastic protector. Very good. $9.

SOLD - Phonographics by Arnold Schwartzman (Chronicle Books, 1993). Softcover, 120 pages, with slip cover. Lots of color photos of paraphernalia. $15

SOLD - A Portfolio of Early Phonographs by Lawrence Schlick (spiral bound, 1969). 50 large-format pages of full-size B&W photos. Once upon a time, this was a "go-to" reference for collectors. Very hard to find. Very fine condition overall. $30.

- Talking Machines, by V.K. Chew (softbound, 1981 edition of a book originally published in 1967). 80 pages of B&W photos and text. This was another "go-to" reference in the early days, but it is a bit "fact-challenged" by today's standards. Still fun for the pictures. $12

SOLD - Edison Blue Amberol Recordings 1912-1914 by Ron Dethlefson (1980). Hardbound, 206 pages, autographed and numbered (#84 of 500 printed). Very slight scuffing on the edges of the spine, otherwise very fine. $30

- Paillard catalog reprint by CLPGS (1970s?). Softbound reprint showing the entire Paillard line-up circa 1908 or so. Overall good. $12

I'll take 'A Complete Manual of the Edison Phonograph' if it is still available.
