Odeon Phonograph

Post by BigC »

I bought this phonograph and want to get it back to original. It looks good but the top is broken and needs a little work. Im hopefull the black is original to this phonograph. I really can't find any information on it so I'm hoping you guys can help out again.

Greetings,
The Odeon was made by:
International Talking Machine Co., of Berlin, Germany, in or about 1904
~and/or~
American Odeon Corporation, Manhattan, New York, beginning about December 1920.

There is also a record label of Odeon, but not sure if its connected to the phonograph manufacture.
Good luck with the restoration!

Probably better posted in our European section. There are a few threads there on Odeon including one I posted a few years ago.

The decal is applied over the black, so I think it probably is original?

A handsome machine. Good luck with the restorations.

Thank you for the information. I really liked the phonograph from the first time I saw it. It plays very well and looking forward to working on it.

Wow your phonograph is definitely one of the most elaborately crafted machine I have seen. You are very fortunate to have it. I will post a picture of the inside tomorrow.
