Video Games Are Doing Their Research

Post by travisgreyfox »

While playing this huge "open world" game I found this "victrola" sitting in the corner of the room. I like how they even included the needle cup.

The game graphics are actually much better but I took pics of the TV through my crappy phone.

But isn't shooting the poor thing a little extreme, just because it's playing "Hootenanny at Punkin' Center" for the 27th time in a row? ;)

This game is Resident Evil 8: The Village. It seems Hollywood and game designers like to add old phonographs in scary games/movies. Not sure why they conflate our record players with horror.

I don’t have a screen shot but the game The Room 3 has a phonograph as one of the clues. The game is an escape by solving puzzles type of game. In one of the rooms is a phonograph missing it’s reproducer. Along with other items in the room, you need to find the reproducer and put it on the machine to play the record to hear the clue. I thought it was interesting someone thought of it.
