What were the major differences between these different models? It seems from this advertisement that they all used the same horn and arm.

One can argue about taste. I find the cabinet to be ugly and dull and the legs do not match at all to the rest. What kind of style is this supposed to be?! When I consider what amazing furniture was created in the 1920s, it's backward and boring.

I am certainly not a columbia fan at all - but I do like this one.

I do agree with you about 1920's style - I have a one-off art deco style walnut floor standing gramophone which I think is amazing.

The Columbia catalogue describes the Plano-Reflex horn as approximately 9 feet long (unfolded) but does not specify which machines had which horns. It is reasonable to assume that the largest models had the full size horn, but that the smaller models such as the 132a and 133a had a smaller version to fit their smaller cabinets.
Rather than make a smaller horn from scratch, it seems that Columbia simply shortened the final rectangular section to fit.
