Yup. Total scam. He's offering lots of phonographs and crapophones, with a variety of different pictures that were obviously taken from many sources. I know I've seen some of them before. This listing has a picture stolen from my website: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134318385509

Edit to add: here's yet another listing for my Victor 6, with a different photo from my site: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134318383675

The Opera is being offered in two separate auctions: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134312997208 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/134315945207.

Absolutely incomprehensible that after more than 25 years, eBay can’t keep this stuff from happening.

Watch the comments... This seller has lots of conflicts! And don't of the comments are repeated many times! All very strange.

KCW wrote: Wed Nov 02, 2022 1:17 pm Here’s a very low serial number Opera for sale on eBay. It needs some work but I think it’s actually a decent deal if you’re willing to out some work into it. The reproducers need to be rebuilt, but it looks like there are two of them, which is interesting. I’ve already got one, but this would be a great project piece.

Here is the listing:

THOMAS EDISON OPERA CYLINDER PLAYER PHONOGRAPH MODEL A NON-WORKING PROJECT

For sale this vintage Thomas Edison Opera Cylinder Player Phonograph, for sale as a non-working project AS IS. Model A , Type SM, Serial 874. For sale as pictured, no other parts or accessories are included.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/195438388813?_ ... %7Ciid%3A1

The phonograph mechanism spin but there are several issues like the wear on the gear of the worm screw (picture 8), also the reproducers are not complete and one is damaged and several parts, like the horn, winding handle are missing. Cosmetically in fair condition, the wooden case shows marks and scratches and the top paint is almost completely gone. Please check the video and all pictures using a large monitor or the eBay enlarger tool, for details, and to make your own evaluation.

Weight 38 lb.

Wow - I can’t believe this stuff happens! I wonder where this Opera actually is? After all, it’s a photo of an actual Opera, so it’s got to be somewhere. I’d love to know where it is, just out of curiosity.

Look at other items the sellers has as well.... they’re all hijacked pictures. I have reported several auctions to eBay. Let’s see if they get deleted.
