What? Isn't this forum about phonographs? Why are you discussing the benefits of a EV vehicle? We come here to discuss phonographs not to be informed about your electrical work and your car.

Turning this to a sort of phonograph topic.
We all know about Edison and Nicola Tesla's current wars. We know Edison rubbished A/C power, even electrocuting animals to show how dangerous he thought it was. Edison famously sued anyone who stepped on his toes and it is said that he shelved many important inventions simply because they would supersede his own inventions.
Move on 120 years and nothing seems to have changed. Elon Musk is actively rubbishing any research into the hydrogen engine calling it "stupid". Now wasn't it Nicola Tesla who said the combustion engine could be run on water?.
The irony of Musk calling his EV "Tesla" is blinding.

Back in the 1980's there was a British inventor who built a steam driven engine the size of a standard suitcase which propelled a stripped down Ford Escort along a test track at fairly low speeds. It was a development that disappeared from sight, along with its inventor.

If it is this room, that's fine with me.

Yes, that's perfectly acceptable for continental lagers (just not real ales) and cider! ;)
