Re: Nice Vic Jr on Ebay
Upon closer inspection, the crank and reproducer are most likely reproductions. I believe the Victor type R and P (certain variations) share the same slotted crank so that shouldn't be too hard to find an original crank. Wonder if it'd be better to refer the seller to a phonograph sales group directly, if they care enough to have a good buyer & seller experience.

Here is an original crank and reproducer. There is nothing technically wrong with the reproduction reproducer. They are darn near perfect, and that's what makes them stand out. No signs of aging.

Are the big letters J-U-N-I-O-R embossed or printed onto a flat surface?
Thanks,

So what price should this sell for with repro handle and soundbox? It clearly hasn't impressed anyone at the current price.

I believe they're embossed and filled with white enamel.uncle-jimmy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:42 pm Are the big letters J-U-N-I-O-R embossed or printed onto a flat surface?

Re: Nice Vic Jr on Ebay
Well, it does have 41 watchers... so there is some interest.
If I thought I wanted it, I would offer maybe $600. That's just me though...

Re: Nice Vic Jr on Ebay
When it's a Buy It Now price with offers invited, as opposed to a 7 day auction, say, the number of watchers is irrelevant I believe as any one of them can buy it straight away if they feel its worth the money or offer less if not. There might as well be 5000 watchers there as clearly none of them are buyers.
I'm not sure the seller would accept 600 as I offered close to that and got turned down. I think you're right about the price though. It's not worth more than that and for me personally it's not worth more than 450 when I have to factor in shipping costs and taxes.

The Reproducer is a reproduction possibly made by Mirek Stehlik. If you could buy it for 500-600 you would be ok
