FS: Replica Turntable for Victor 10-50, 10-51, 9-55 and 10-70

Replacement aluminum turntable for the often warped pot-metal turntables on the1927 Victor Automatics.
The changer does not work reliably without a flat turntable.
Cost is $195 plus postage. Add $10 if you want the laser-cut felt included and attached.

The felt is 100% wool like Victor used, it is the correct golden -orange color, not brownish like it appears in the photo.

A side note: Though not technically correct, these turntables work well on the 1928 second design or Type 2 changers also. These are the ones with the heavy laminated rubber coatings that get dry/ brittle/ cracked and thus no longer "throw" the record properly when the finger pops up to throw the record. The felt has enough grip to do this. I have a 10-50 turntable on my 10-35 and it solved the appearance and function issues perfectly.

Mark- any chance of making these with a rubber coating so as to be 100% correct for these machines? As you likely know, they came in black or red, I think.

George, There are 3 methods that you can do to your 2nd generation Victor rubberized turntables. All of these methods keep the correct appearance of the changer.

First: Cover it with thin leather using spray adhesive. The leather will form all the way around the edges. This was initially how I fixed all of my 2nd gen turntables before the spray rubbers were on the market.

Second: Use Flex-Seal spray on rubber coating. Comes in black, red and clear. This is a method I have used many times. I suggest several heavy coats of the correct color then another of clear.

Third: Use spray Dip-it and coat the turntable. Comes in black and red. It is a vinyl coating. I have been told this works by other changer collectors.

Mark, so when using the Flex-Seal do you strip off the original material and then spray or keep it on and over spray?
Thx Abe

Carlton Abe not Mark. Clean the original surface best you can then spray on top of it.
