I read in The Fabulous Phonograph that he regretted selling Victor.edisonplayer.

Not strange... He sold, then came the depression, but later the record sales raised and after 1939 the company raised higher and higher... He died seeing his old baby getting more and more powerful everyday...

His depression came long before he sold the company.

I was referring The Great Depression, not ERJohnson' so own depression.
