I am offering a lovingly and expensively restored Edison gramophone, more precisely an Echophone. (Edison is not Paillard - Expensively restored ????*)
The device was produced in Switzerland around 1904.
It is the only device known under the Echophone label and was not produced by Edition. (Edison is now edition? Only device known

...except the seller posts a magazine picture of another echophone, and these are not so uncommon! )
It was created in the style of the Columbia Eagle.
The device was fully restored and repaired by a restaurant gate. (he says it in German "Das Gerät ist von einem Restaurant Tor wieder voll restauriert) Among other things, the entire mechanism was dismantled and cleaned using ultrasound, the springs were replaced and a new sapphire was installed on the case. (but did nothing to improve the rather shoddy cabinet base?) He may have meant "Restaurator", --- red flag?
The device is ready for use immediately. The device itself comes with a box of used cylinders in more or less usable quality.

A test listen and look is preferred.

*general point to "expensively restored" : I've seen many times where people have had generic portables & cabinets "restored" by a furniture restorer for vastly more than the item is actually worth. Reminds me of a persian carpet valuer and cleaning shop that opened in the parallel street to me. So a pensioner would call them up saying they are downsizing and had a number of persian carpets they were selling and would like an expert opinion.

The game was always the same; the expert would enter the residency and go apoplectic with excitement "This is an incredibly rare Fabreezi Tablisi carpet. Condition is not perfect but we can give it a clean and make some cosmetic repairs for around 1'500 and then it could be worth 10'000." though in reality you could find something similar at the next fleamarket for a 50!
