Hello out there in Vintage Jazz Record Collector Land!
We are but 2 days away from the 2025 Indy Record Bash and I hope you all can attend this time our dates are January 17th & 18th, 2025!
The most current information on the event is below.
We have filled all of the volunteer positions for Record Quizs and Historic Presentations
To date we have 12 dealers registered for this years event!
This will be the 6th time I have taken on the continuing of the Indy Record Bash annual event. As you all know this is a not-for-profit event and it must break even each year in order for me to continue to bring it back the following year. The cost of renting the banquet room for the Bash is $963.00+. We have been lucky in the past four years with our $20.00 vender fees, $15.00 entry fees along with some individual donations to generate enough funds to pay for the current event and the have enough for the $300.00 down payment on reserving the ballroom for the following year. I then must personally pay in advance the remaining $663.00 rental fee the week before the show takes place.
Those of you who have attended in the past may know I am primarily a collector of antique Victor Electrolas 1926-1932 and Victor advertising as well as the 78 records. You may not know that I am 70 years as of this past August and I am not retired. I am self- employed and owner of a company of 34 years that is centered around historic restoration of theatre pipe organs. As of now I have no definite plans to retire in the near future and I want you all to know that I very much look forward to seeing all of you each year, renewing old friendships and forming new friendships in this hobby. I hope we can keep these Record Bashes going for many years to come!
Best regards,
Carlton Smith

The Record Show You Like…Continues!
Since 1986, the hottest music has shattered the coldest temperatures in Indiana every January, and once again the tradition continues! There will be merriment, music, dancing and more records than you can shake a stick at!
Special note: This year the Bash will be advertised locally to surrounding area phonograph collectors.
So please, make your plans right now to happily emerge from your wintertime solitude.
THE INDY RECORD BASH IS BACK AGAIN IN INDIANAPOLIS FOR ITS 38th YEAR!
When: Held at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites Indianapolis South, the next Bash will occur on January 17th and 18th, 2025. Our contract starts at noon on the 16th for those wishing to arrive early to set up and/or say warm hellos to good friends. Check-in on Thursday the 16th starts at 3PM and checkout on Sunday is 11AM.
Where: The LaQuinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham, Indianapolis South (317) 783-7751. 5120 Victory Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46203. See driving directions! Our block of 28 rooms will be reserved until Thursday, January 9th, 2025. When you book your reservation the block code is “IRB25”. 23 Rooms are in our block at $129.00 each (double, single or handicap) plus 17% tax per night, 5 King Suites available at $159.00 plus 17% tax per night.
Note: The LaQuinta Inn alcohol policy This is actually not new, but it is important that I state the rules. Indiana excise law dictates that all alcohol in a hotel that has a working bar that alcohol that is consumed in a public area of the hotel must be purchased at the hotel bar. This includes the banquet room. So, this means you can bring in alcohol for your personal consumption within your room only. However, all alcohol that is consumed in the “banquet room” must be purchased at the hotel bar only. Not complying with this rule can get the Indy Record Bash event immediately halted and the event cancelled by the hotel management.
What: In its customary grand style, the 2025 Indy Record Bash will feature the sale of everything money can buy including records, CD’s, books, posters, sheet music, instruments, photographs, phonographs and audio equipment! The agenda will be loose and free-flowing. There will be hot jam sessions to keep us warm in the wintertime chill. To top off everyone’s fun, there will be late-night record spinning sessions held until the last person is awake! Have no fear there will be plenty of room for safe social distancing in the new hotel and ballroom.
This will be my sixth time hosting the Indy Bash and as in the past years the Bash will be advertised locally where possible, on Facebook record and phonograph related pages and surrounding antique phonograph societies as well as local events calendars.
Directions: The La Quinta Inn is just off I-465 at the South Emerson Avenue Exit. First light south of the interstate turn left onto Victory Drive and the hotel is immediately on your left. You can’t miss it! We certainly hope you can’t, anyway! Be sure to check out a map as needed!
As usual there will be a $20 fee for up to 2 vender tables and an admission fee of $15 for everyone attending the sale and event.
Venders: Please email me at [email protected] reserve your tables.
-Thank you-
