Unscrewing the stylus on a Columbia Floating Reproducer

Post by MikeB »

I am trying to rebuild a floating reproducer on a Columbia Q. I have never done this before. I understand that the small metal bar unscrews from the stylus setting at the center of the diaphragm, but mine won't budge. I got the metal bar to turn a little, but it is taking the stylus setting with it on the other side, and not unscrewing. Is there a safe way to get these apart if they are stuck together?

Well I gave up and ended up using the existing diaphragm. It sounds fine.
