Website Regarding Archival of Edison Dealers

Post by CarterSauce_F »

(Forwarded from post in Links subpage)
First, I would like to thank everyone who responded to my survey regarding Edison machines, it helped me further my archival efforts for my project. But without further ado, I would like to present my (attempt at creating a) website that allows anyone to look at almost every state that had dealers and jobbers sell Edison-labeled records and phonographs.

https://sites.google.com/view/edisondealersearch/home

Normally, I would not like to share projects this early in development, but the more I think about it, the more I would like this community to at least be able to view the progress of the site. In the site, you will not only find the pages that has the embedded tables of dealers, jobbers, suspended companies, plants, and exhibitors (though, you will need to be signed into Microsoft 365 to view the tables- otherwise, I will be creating a color-coded map of each state in the near future that can be easy-on-the-eyes to view), but also pages that talks about the purpose and objectives of the site, a little snippet of Edison business history, a 'unique' roadmap ( ;) ) that allows anyone to see the planned updates for the near future, as well as the sources I used for both the archiving section and the academic sources used for the business history page.

Again, this is still in early development, but I will try to work on this whenever my school and work schedule allows me to. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please PM me, I'm open and welcome to feedback (as I also plan to add a feedback feature to the site at a future time).
But without any further notes, I hope you all enjoy the website and all of its' progression, and I hope y'all have a great rest of your morning, midday, and evening!

Regards,
Carter

UPDATE:
I have overhauled the entire website to add custom banners to each page (except for the individual states- that will come in the near future), along with a page for general phonograph history (which contains links to some videos I highly recommend for newcomers into the world of phonographs and early recorded music history), and a terminology page for those who are, again, just entering the world of phonographs. Lastly, I have also added a feedback page where those who would like to give suggestions, alert me of technical issues, or would like to add information for dealers and jobbers I have yet to add to the archive can directly contact through the Google Form embedded into the page. But other than that, again, if anyone has any comments or concerns, let me know, and I hope that you all have a good rest of your day!

Regards,
-Carter

Looks good. However, your Visitor Counter doesn't work correctly. :(

Thank you for the feedback, I will go in and try tinkering around with it to make sure it works correctly!
