HMV Advertising, 1921 style

Post by recordo »

I love this photo - taken from "EMI - the first 100 years" by Peter Martland (Amadeus Press, 1997). It's the Oxford St, London, store, 1921.

I'd love to see displays like this nowadays. Is it any wonder record (CD) sales are slumping when there is absolutely no decent advertising?

As a tribute to the golden age of advertising with 3D models, I have just acquired a three foot six high Nipper! Should I stick him on the roof with lights attached? :)

The lights must blink and make a buzzing sound.

Absolutely stunning! But wouldn't like to pay the energy bill. ;)
