Decca 130

Post by poodling around »

I think that this model was described on a thread some-where here as 'probably the best portable made by any company' ?

It seems to have the record storage item too ?

... and the prize for the fastest response to any thread on this forum goes to ...

Well, the two I own sound very good indeed.

This one also seems to have the Number 8 (?) sound-box which I think is also well thought of ........... plus what seems to be a good condition auto-stop ?

Plus it is an early model I think which some think sounds slightly better than the old one ?

I am not convinced that these were made with double spring motors though ... ?

The Decca 130 does have a double spring motor. The otherwise similar 120 has a single spring motor.
Both feature what was probably the largest horn ever fitted inside a portable.
