Cheap fake Palmodian

Post by Sidewinder »

SELLER DESCRIPTION

A "violin gramophone" is a creative combination of a gramophone and a violin.

The instrument's sound is amplified and reproduced using the mechanical principles of a gramophone.

This produces unique timbres, often with a distinctive, somewhat rough, or even authentic violin sound, provided you play the right shellac record, of course!

The violin gramophone was invented around 1905 by two Frenchmen who called the instrument "le Palmodian," "Le violin qui chante" (the violin that sings).

Unfortunately, this idea was not a success, and so this instrument remains what it was even then: a curiosity.

Our instrument is from a later year of manufacture and is of significantly better quality! It features a powerful motor and, naturally, excellent resonance with a high-quality solid wood cabinet.

It is not a cheap copy like the ones that occasionally appear, cobbled together with the cheapest parts and offering mediocre music reproduction, a plywood box, etc.! -> remove the word not for a correct description!

The whole point of the Palmodian was that the violin was the soundbox - not like here a cheap violin with a soundbox stuck on the side
