Pathé Actuelle soundbox

Post by epigramophone »

The Pathé Actuelle machines we usually see on this forum are the American ones with the conical "Diffusor".
Here is a Pathé Actuelle soundbox clearly made to fit a conventional tonearm.
It has "Reg.US Pat.Off." behind the diaphragm, but is it American or European made?
Did Pathé make conventional machines equipped with this soundbox? I have never seen one.

US Pathé made several machines, table tops and cabinets that utilized conventional arms with swiveling soundboxes to play vertical and lateral records. Maybe they used the Actuelle on these machines as well, as they did on their lateral records.
