I've seen much better examples but still, it'll go for a song either way:

It only has a single spring motor though.

I don’t think so because the seller ended the listing after introducing a quite high buy it now price.Steve wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 4:00 pm I've seen much better examples but still, it'll go for a song either way:
The motor doesn’t ‘appear’ to have been changed but I was rather puzzled by the redundant hole on the motor board? So has the motor been changed?

Was the BIN price £667? If so, wasn't that there all along? It was a new listing.jamiegramo wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 8:10 amI don’t think so because the seller ended the listing after introducing a quite high buy it now price.Steve wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 4:00 pm I've seen much better examples but still, it'll go for a song either way:

As for the motor, I think the redundant hole was drilled for the double spring motor but possibly the cabinet was never fitted with one? They did fit single spring motors to this model when supplies were dwindling. I recall the other three holes would have been used for the double-spring motor as the layout for each variant of the motor: single / double / triple, was essentially the same?

Yes the BIN price may have been there all along and I missed that.Steve wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 8:22 amWas the BIN price £667? If so, wasn't that there all along? It’s true single spring motors were fitted to these models but the redundant hole looks well used, flattened and stained from a fixing bolt.

Re: Tired Cockleshell Monarch on Ebay
It does, very true. I'm not sure what we'd make of it though if the hole was still crisp, clean and unstained? Either way, it wouldn't worry me too much as the motor is the right type and might have been fitted that way from new. Still, it's withdrawn and now not for sale!jamiegramo wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 8:34 amYes the BIN price may have been there all along and I missed that.Steve wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 8:22 amWas the BIN price £667?
